Today MakeMusic released an update for our Dolet for Finale MusicXML
plug-in. This plug-in imports and exports MusicXML files from versions of
Finale dating back to Finale 2000 on Windows or Finale 2007 on Intel Macs.
The big new feature in this update is support for exporting MusicXML from
scores whose default music fonts are SMuFL compliant. Previously, if you
tried to export MusicXML from a Finale file set in a SMuFL font, you would
lose articulations and dynamics because the SMuFL code points were not
recognized by the software. Now these symbols will export to MusicXML
files correctly. We have tested this with our (still under development)
Maestro font family update for SMuFL and OpenType, and it should work for
Bravura and other SMuFL fonts as well. This works with Finale 2012 and
2014.
