Looks like I forgot to post examples of this. I'd suggest adding a set of
somewhat elongated diamond notehead. I often see these used in handbell
music when handchimes are called for. The elongated diamond should
balance the width of a standard notehead. In the example provided I have
included a standard notehead and two standard diamond noteheads for
comparison.
