Agree. I have done a great deal of copying in Ben Johnston's system of
accidentals for extended just intonation, which I suppose has as good
a chance as any of becoming a standard. But there are so many
different ways even of choosing intervals other than 12-tet tow ork
with (J.I. for example doesn't divide the octave up into any finite
number of steps), that I doubt we can ever narrow down to a system
with a finite set of symbols in this area.
