It occurs to me that time sigs such as 7/16 and 12/8 would present a further problem with centering. Is there a way for a string of characters to define some sort of combined center point without requiring whole sets of ligatures for multi-digit numerators & denominators??
Decades ago I used to accomplish this sort of thing in MS Word using math formula codes. Nowadays in html it's easy enough to embed a div or table within a sentence. (Maybe this is expecting too much of a mere font. Where should the line be drawn?)
