Another thing: regarding the hight of individual notes with flags, they seem to have been shortened in SMuFL version 1.12, but I can’t find any record of this in this in the version history. Are there any (new) specific recommendations for the proportions of these glyphs?

These shapes were originated by engraver Emil Wojtacki.
I’ve noticed that the shapes differ somewhat from the regular
diamond noteheads in the same font. I’ve never seen these shapes in
any score, so I’m not sure in which context they are used. This
would be helpful information as well.
As far as I know he designed them by logically extending the concept of
regular cluster notation to include other kinds of notehead shapes, since
it is possible you might need to show e.g. clusters of harmonics on divisi
passages for string instruments.
