Well, at the moment, the guidelines that we have discussed and agreed
state that noteheads should be centred on the baseline in fonts intended
for use in scoring applications. It's not beyond the realm of possibility
that an application might want to use these precomposed glyphs in some
situations, though the SMuFL specification does recommend that notes with
stems, flags, beams etc. should be drawn using a combination of primitive
lines and glyphs, since this is more flexible.
If there is consensus in the community that it would be beneficial to
change the registration of the 'Individual notes' and 'Beamed groups of
notes' ranges in the recommendations for fonts for scoring applications,
I'm open to it.
