I don't know the answer to your questions, but there are at least a few
Windows-savvy developers here on the list, such as David Webber (the author
of Mozart). Hopefully somebody will chime in with some advice for you.
In the meantime, you might try asking your question
on Stack Overflow, as many hundreds of thousands of programmers visit there
every day.
