The idea is that the height difference doesn't matter: the glyphs are
registered such that the centre of the staff line or space on which they
should be positioned corresponds with y=0, i.e. the glyph baseline. So
provided you have your font size set correctly (if you are drawing a staff
height of 20pt, say, then you should set the size of Bravura to 20pt as
well), simply positioning the glyph at the appropriate staff position will
give a correct result, without any specific consideration of the height of
the notehead glyph itself.
