I don't think it's really necessary for SMuFL to attempt to answer that question: the main job is simply to encode and categorise the glyphs. Thanks for your reply. Generally speaking, it is true, but when a stylistic alternate is named "Double whole note (breve), single vertical stroke" (and a name of some kind is unavoidable), it rather clear suggests which shape is considered primary and which alternate... Thanks, Maurizio |
