Hi all, While I absolutely agree that the rare triple-sharp should appear as #x, I can point out at least one example in history where the publisher (UE) printed it as x#. The piece is the second of Max Reger's clarinet sonatas, Op. 49 (on page 34, 2nd system, last bar). A screenshot can be found here (http://www.blankmusicpublishing.com/images/misc/triple_sharp.jpg), and the whole file can be found on IMSLP here (http://javanese.imslp.info/files/imglnks/usimg/6/6f/IMSLP273659-PMLP34336-Reger_Clarinet_sonata_Op49No2.pdf). That said, I'm not advocating for keeping the x# really; I just wanted to point out that the x# is not without precedent.
