Congrats!
This is a great accomplishment! A few questions: Requested change: Combining staff positions might be specified to be with respect to a baseline, not with respect to the previous staff position (as in “Climacus” example on p. 194. I think it would be very difficult to create ligatures (in both senses of the word) within a font that required keeping track of what the “current” staff position is, but would be not difficult to do with respect to a baseline. So instead of the Climacus being chantPunctumVirga + (staffPosLower1) + chantPunctumInclinatum + (staffPosLower1) + chantPunctumInclinatum it would be chantPunctumVirga + (staffPosLower1) + chantPunctumInclinatum + (staffPosLower2) + chantPunctumInclinatum this also eliminates the problem that some symbols such as chantPodatus2nd have an implied staffPosRaise1 in them. The fingering charts are really great additions! Bravo for adding them! It’s great that you supply both open and closed fingerings for each individual finger/key/ring etc. in addition to the “all open” basic glyph. That way simpler fingering charts can be created, such as for students (only showing the holes and keys that have been taught so far) or easier to read multi phonic charts (for instance, for the clarinet, I only show the six main holes and any keys that are being depressed (or a few keys around them if necessary for context). I don’t show non-depressed “banana” keys, since they just clutter up the diagram. I only know the clarinet, but showing the stems on the left-hand E,F,F# keys is probably more standard (see http://myke.trecento.com/fonts/ — clarFinger, which you can definitely borrow anything from). It’s not part of a font standard, of course, but I would encourage clarity over accurately shaped keys. The bassClarinet low D, C#, and C might be shown two if there’s a way to do it. But those keys are not standard, so it might not be as useful. I love that you’ve remembered to put things like the stylistic alternate for “c” in English tablature (the one that looks like an “r”) — it just shows how well thought out this is.
