Unfortunately, those of us who sell our software have to consider things
like that.   XP is very much still a current platform for many people.

If a font spec is being defined, then surely it should be usable at a basic
level on as wide a variety of platforms as possible (even if you can do
fancier things on fancier platforms with fancier font implementations)?
