I was wondering why the composite glyphs of multiple staccato dots with and without slurs above/below are split between the different classes (tremolos, wind techniques, string techniques, etc.). Aren’t they all used by different types of instruments more or less regardless of shape (i.e., essentially all in the tremolo category)?
