The "parenthesis notehead" glyph U+E0EC seems as though it is not going to be useful given the variable widths of noteheads.
I would suggest a pair of parenthesis glyphs for use with note heads, much as you have done for time signatures. The baseline of these parentheses would be congruent with the baselines of the note heads to which they apply. No bearing or blank space is needed, that's a matter for the application.
