I added a proposal for a ranges.json at https://gist.github.com/peterstadler/10718121
The ranges and descriptions have been extracted by Anna Maria Komprecht from the current 0.85 pdf specification.
While the current format is just a draft I’m not insisting on it but I hope it will make any subsequent transformation much easier.
Having those ranges and the glyph descriptions in a machine readable format before version 1.0 would really be great for us!
